The Eschatrilogy: Book of the Dead

This film will always be special to me, it was my first experience of working on a movie set. Nothing at all glamorous as it was filmed outside; the make-up department was a few fold up tables with all the items needed set out. The extra's all had to queue up for their make-up doing, but the only problem was that once the latex had been applied you had to wait at least 15 minutes for it to dry before any more make-up could be added. Due to the amount of extras needed, that time increased to about an hour.

I filmed over 2 days, and the first day it persistently rained on and off for the best part of the day. We had to wait for a break in the rain and run on set as fast as possible before it started again. It was still a lot of fun, even though we were all freezing cold, soaked through to the skin and caked in fake blood!

My Bloody Banjo

I met the films director; Liam Regan on set of The Eschatrilogy. After getting to know him better I found out he was turning a short horror he had made into a full length feature. He had already got all of his main stars for the film, but he did still need background artrists for some scenes.

I jumped at the chance to help out and managed to steel a scene from anyone else involved. I had no script and the idea was that the main star comes out of a lift to his colleagues all shouting abuse at him. As the camera passed me I leaned in and shouted "Wanker" whilst giving hand gestures. This scene made it into the trailer as well as the full movie and has always had a positive reaction from reviewers and people watching the film. If you are going to get known in this business, take chances. Whats the worst that can happen? It ends up on the cutting room floor!

Welcome 2 Karachi

Welcome 2 Karachi was certainly an experience. It was both my first taste of Bollywood and also a film with a big budget.

I was told about an advert asking for extras on a shoot, but there was no mention of what it was for other than to play a role as a soldier. When I turned up to the set at 7am it was a slight shock to find out it was Bollywood, but I loved every moment of it; not to mention being able to fire an AK-47 loaded with blanks. Luckily I didn't have to dance which has always been synonymous with Bollywood, as I can't dance at all.

I played the part of a Ukrainian Soldier in the background, but was a seriously long day as we didn't wrap until about 9 that night.

The Syndicate - BBC Drama

The BBC were looking for supporting actors to play the roles of Police Search Officers who were trying to locate a missing child. I thought that I had a good chance of making the TV as I played the lead searching officer and had a part where I communicated in person with one of the main stars of the show.

Unfortunately that bit was cut from the programme, but it was still so much fun on set and really interesting to see what went in to a big budget production. Not to mention meeting Alice Kriege who was in it. She played one of the main roles in the first Silent Hill film. Anyone who knows me will know that I am a huge fan of that franchise.

1921

I guess I can now share these images as the left hand side one is live on the films IMDB page.

1921 is a Bollywood horror film which has just been released globally (12th January 2018).

This was one of my most memorable filming days. Not only did I get a full speaking part within the movie, but my amazing better half also worked as the Production Assistant and ran round like an idiot all day bless her.. its when she works at her best; under pressure.

It was actually her first time on set and was great to have her there, not only for support, but for her to see what I get up to when I'm away filming.

The best part of the entire experience however, was the location. Broughton Hall is beautiful both inside and out

Other Work

There has been other projects that I've had the chance to work on that I'm not going to bore you all with. My main work has featured above.

My proudest moments have been working with my daughter on the same thing; twice.

I have had the great pleasure of working with some amazing people on set such as Nicholas Burman-Vince (The Chatterer - Hellraiser), Alice Krige (Christabella - Silent Hill) and Bernie Clifton (Old 80's Comedian). Most people would be star struck and hunting for autographs, but when you get past being starstruck then you find that they are all really nice people to talk to on a regular level.

If you do want to see any more of my work then I do have an IMDB page that you can check out.
